    Inflation Reduction Act Incentives

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was a groundbreaking investment by the federal government that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in New York and throughout the country. There are several programs within the IRA that incentivize energy-efficient home upgrades, like tax credits and rebates. More details on the IRA federal tax credits and rebates can be found on our Inflation Reduction Act page.

    IRA Tax Credits

Homeowners can reduce their federal tax liability by 30% of the cost of qualified home improvements, like heat pump installation (up to $2,000), insulation and air sealing (up to $1,200), and more.

    IRA Rebates

The Inflation Reduction Act will introduce new rebate programs to New York homeowners. These incentives aren’t available yet, but the Wise Home Energy team is keeping a close eye out for any announcements. We will provide details on the IRA rebates as soon as we find out more.

    NYS Clean Heat Program

The NYS Clean Heat Program provides rebates and financing programs to National Grid, RG&E, and NYSEG customers for upgrading to a cold climate air source heat pump system. The heat pump rebate amount is determined by the location of your home and utility company, but homeowners can easily find out through their website.

Heat pumps offer a heating and cooling technology that will help lower your energy costs and reduce your greenhouse gas emissions. Clean Heat heat pump rebates are available for single systems or whole house solutions for year-round new or existing homes.

    NYSERDA Comfort Home Program

The NYSERDA Comfort Home Program offers homeowners incentives for air sealing and insulation services to make your home more comfortable and lower your year-round energy bills. Air sealing and insulation rebates range from $1,000 to $4,000 depending on the extent of your insulation project, which can include:

    • Attic insulation
    • Rim joist insulation
    • Air sealing
    • Wall & floor insulation
    • ENERGY STAR window upgrades

To get started with the NYSERDA Comfort Home Program, our team will provide a no-fee consultation to help you determine what air sealing and insulation upgrades your home needs.

The Assisted Home Performance Program offers eligible homeowners in certain areas of New York a discount covering up to 50% of the cost of energy efficiency services, like insulation, up to $5,000. The NYSERDA Assisted Home Performance Program also offers low-interest loans for the remaining costs.
