Pipes Freezing and Cold Floors – 1998 Raised Ranch
The home is a 1396 square foot Raised Ranch built in 1998. The customer’s initial concerns were that the home had “freezing pipes and the overhang has cold floors.”

Wise Home Energy performed an initial Blower Door Test which showed an airflow of 1873 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of air moving past the blower door.
Below are the steps taken by Wise Home Energy to correct the problems in the home.
- Remove attic insulation
- Install airsealing
- Re-insulate
- cut back ceiling to insulate cantilever

And here is the result of the Blower Door Test taken after the air-sealing and insulation work was completed. The results show a CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of 1038, a reduction of 835 CFM, or 45%. All in all, a great result and a very happy customer.
